Washington State's First Poet Laureate

As you may have read in the Seattle P-I or, perhaps, the more irreverent piece in The Stranger, Governor Chris Gregoire has appointed the state's first ever Poet Laureate.  We're extremely pleased that her choice was our long-time friend Sam Green.  Sam will be at Village Books on Thursday, January 31, at 7 pm to read from his latest book of poems, The Grace of Necessity.  I hope you'll come and greet our new Poet Laureate.
